LaPORTE AREA LAKE ASSOCIATION at Pine Lake - Venetian Fest Floatilla

When:  Aug 30, 2008 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST

Where:  Starting at Pine Lake in LaPorte, IN

What:  LaPorte Area Lake Association is holding its annual Watercraft Parade  "VENEITAN NIGHTS" on Saturday August 30, 2008 from 7:00pm until 11:00pm.  The Floatilla will be on Pine Lake in LaPorte, starting from Pine Lake Ave to Waverly as well as Holton.     A proposed rain date is 9-6-08, but not confirmed!

SYLVAN LAKE, Sylvan Lake TNT Fishing Tournament

When:  Aug 26, 2008 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST

Where:  Rome City, IN

What:  Sylvan Lake TNT Fishing Tournament held on April 22, 2008 starting at 5 pm until 9 pm.  A 50 boat limit will launch from the Public Access Ramp

LAKE WAWASEE, Anglers Dream Fishing Tournament

When:  Aug 31, 2008 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM EST

Where:  Syracuse, IN

What:  Anglers Dream Fishing Tournament at Lake Wawasee in Syracuse will be held on Aug 31, 2008 starting at 7 am until 3 pm.  A limit of 30 boats will launch from the Syracuse Public Ramp.

Hoosier Riverwatch Basic Training-North Salem

When:  Sep 13, 2008 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT

Where:  McCloud Nature Park - North Salem

What:  Hoosier Riverwatch Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring "Basic" Training introduces citizens and educators to water quality monitoring utilizing hands-on habitat, chemical, and biological assessment methods. Participants gain experience and skills in the use of chemical monitoring kits and aquatic insect collection and identification. The sessions are held both inside and outdoors. After completion of this training, participants become "Certified Volunteer Monitors" and are qualified to submit data to the statewide volunteer stream monitoring database. Any interested adult is welcome to attend, and once certified, may teach students how to monitor. Sign-up today with a friend!
