Dealer Offers $4 million for Half of Country Coach



A Texas RV dealer has agreed to buy six Country Coach motor coaches and invest $4 million in return for a 50 percent equity stake in the company as part of a proposed deal intended to allow the RV maker to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to documents filed this week in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Eugene.

AIP Buys Fleetwood Motorhomes; Headquarters to be in Decataur

New York -- American Industrial Partners Capital Fund IV, L.P. ("AIP") has completed the acquisition of the motorized recreational vehicle business ("Fleetwood RV" or the "Company") of Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. The transaction was an asset purchase pursuant to a 363 bankruptcy sale process and included the Goldshield Fiberglass fabrication business. Fleetwood RV is one of North America's leading manufacturers of Class A and Class C motorized recreational vehicles and has established one of the industry's broadest and most respected distribution channels and product lines. Fleetwood RV will be jointly run by Chuck Wilkinson, CEO and John Draheim, President.

Flying J and Pilot Travel Centers Announce Preliminary Merger Agreement

Flying J Inc. ("Flying J") and Pilot Travel Centers LLC ("Pilot") announced that they have entered into a preliminary merger agreement that will provide a framework for Flying J's core travel plaza business to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Under the terms of the Letter of Intent filed today with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, the value indicated would allow all Flying J creditor obligations to be paid in full. Pilot has also agreed to provide $100 million in Debtor-in-Possession financing for Flying J's operations, subject to court approval and various conditions.

First Units Produced and Delivered for Monaco RV, LLC

In June, Navistar purchased the Holiday Rambler brand and manufacturing facilities from the assets of the old Monaco Coach Corp.  The first units off the production line for Monaco RV were Holiday Rambler brand towables, and they were recently delivered to Veurinks’ RV in Michigan, Holiday Ramblers longest running dealer.

Gas motorhomes are expected to ship by the end of July and diesel motorhomes should roll off the line by the end of the summer.

Emerald Ash Borer Found in New Areas

Emerald Ash Borer Found in New Areas

The tree-killing emerald ash borer has been found in two more heavily forested Southern Indiana counties.

The Department of Natural Resources says the invasive green beetle has been found in Lawrence and Orange counties, confirming its spread in that area beyond Monroe and Brown counties near Bloomington.

Since 2004, the ash borer has been found in 23 Indiana counties, most heavily in the state’s northeastern corner. Large infestations of the insect have killed millions of ash trees in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio since 2002.

The DNR has imposed a quarantine, prohibiting the transportation of wood from ash trees from infected areas.

The site will help inform visitors about what’s new in national parks this year and the many ranger-led programs, activities and commercial services available.

New fishing area opens on Sugar Creek

Outdoor lovers have new access to Sugar Creek with the recent opening of the new Sugar Creek Public Fishing Area, located southwest of Crawfordsville.  

The Montgomery County site is approximately 1.5 miles south of  Indiana 32 on Camp Rotary Road, and approximately 1 mile west on Offield Road. The DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife purchased the approximately 12.5-acre area as part of a larger partnership to acquire 41 acres.

"CampIN Fun" at Salamonie Reservoir

A child is never too young to enjoy the wonders of nature. Bring your preschooler, ages 2 to 5, to Salamonie Reservoir's "CampIN Fun" program, June 24 or 25. The same program is offered twice to accommodate more children.

"CampIN Fun" focuses on hiking and camping activities. The program includes indoor and outdoor activities. It is scheduled for 2 to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Participants and their families are invited to camp overnight. If the family chooses to camp, its members must bring their own supplies and food.

Participants are invited to bring a lunch and eat together after the event.

There is a $2 fee per child for the program. Park entrance fees are waived for program attendees.

RVIA Increases Fifth-Wheel Size

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has authorized its members to hike the maximum size of fifth-wheel trailers from 400 to 430 square feet and still meet association standards.

The change takes effect immediately.

RVIA is a national trade association representing more than 550 RV manufacturers and component suppliers producing approximately 98 percent of all RVs manufactured in the United States.

Governor Announces Young Hoosier Conservation Core Program

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels announced the state will hire 2,000 young adults to spend this summer and next improving Indiana's parks, trails and natural habitats. The program, called the Young Hoosiers Conservation Corps, will use federal stimulus funds designated for employment and training of people 16 to 24 years old.

Country Coach Forced Into Bankruptcy

A federal judge ordered Country Coach LLC into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on March 5, one month after the Junction City, Ore., RV maker’s majority owner filed a petition to put the company into involuntary bankruptcy.
 
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Albert Rad­cliffe granted the request by Bryant Riley to put the company into bankruptcy. A Chapter 11 filing puts the company under the protection of the bankruptcy court while attempting to reorganize its finances.

DNR Plans Inaugural Event

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will be host for the inaugural Hoosier Outdoor Experience on Sept. 25-27, 2009 at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. The Experience will be three days of fun-filled, hands-on education and exposure to the great outdoors. Sept. 25, the opening day of the event, is exclusively for third-grade students. The remainder of the Experience is for the whole family and individuals.

Fire Claims Lake Rudolph RV Resort’s Main Office

Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc., a division of Thor, Goshen Ind., presents its EcoLogic Travel Trailer. The EcoLogic is the industry’s first 100 percent composite superstructure, ultra-lite product line. District forester back to DNR duties after Iraq service

Eric Summerfield, a corporal in the Indiana National Guard, was back at his job as district forester for DNR Forestry District 13 on Jan. 12, after returning from Iraq, where he deployed last February.

"We are all very proud of Eric and owe him a debt of gratitude for his service to our country," said State Forester John Seifert.
