Vicariously Yours: Letters and Lessons
from the Ultimate Road Trip

July 2007

Her life was good, but predictable.  She was a housewife and a stay-at-home mom, born and raised in Indiana.  She longed for an adventure and experiences that would impact her life in a significant way.

Enter Oprah Winfrey.

Traci Bray was lucky enough to be in the audience one day in 2004 when Oprah gave new cars to everyone in her audience.

The gift provided the opportunity the Bray family needed.  They sold the car, along with their Indianapolis area home, and used the proceeds to buy a brand new 38-foot Fleetwood Expedition diesel pusher.  It was the beginning of a year-long, 20,000 mile, coast-to-coast family adventure.

Traveling with her husband and their elementary school aged son, Bray relayed their captivating stories to friends and family via email.  As the journey went on the group reading Bray’s reports grew and began living vicariously through her writings.  These transcripts make up her book that promotes family, adventure and travel.

“Vicariously Yours” is published by New Century Publishing and is available online at www.vicariouslyyours.com for $18.95.

Bray has scheduled two book signing receptions at the Indiana Authors Bookstore in downtown Indianapolis on July 24, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her book will go to Indy reads, an adult literacy program.
