Visit the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival!
Started in 1969 by the then-named Chamber of Progress, the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival has become a "small town tradition" attended by thousands of visitors for over 35 years. Featuring antiques, arts & crafts, food and, of course, delicious maple syrup, the festival is the largest event held in Wakarusa and is their way of welcoming in Spring. This year’s event will be held April 18 and 19.

Visitors love to line up for the famous Pancake and Sausage breakfast, stroll through the quaint downtown, called "uptown" by the locals and sample the wares and culinary delights from the many vendors. You'll also have an opportunity to enjoy delicious bar-b-que from our Wakarusa’s own Nelson's Golden-Glow.
Don't miss a chance to enjoy a sack of free pop-corn popped in an open kettle, a seemingly small, yet immensely enjoyable part of the festival.
The festival is also an excellent opportunity to stop by Wakarusa’s historical museum, which includes a turn-of-the century Norfolk & Western Railway depot, operated by the Wakarusa Historical Society. You'll find we have activities for everyone, young and old.
Make your way to the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival - so you can enjoy the first outing of the season...free popcorn, museums and stops at all places that has something to see or do.
Finally... be sure to purchase some real Wakarusa Maple Syrup - it's a treat you'll not want to miss!
