As the weather cools, leaves all across Indiana have begun changing colors from the familiar summer green to spectacular shades of red, yellow and brown. With the placement of six leaf cams around the state, people can now check out the scenic views from their computer. This year’s fall leaf cams can be accessed through the end of November at the Indiana Office of Tourism Development’s Web site, VisitIndiana.com.
The six Leaf Cam locations are: Conner Prairie, Fishers; The Fort Golf Course at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis; French Lick Resort Casino, French Lick; Hilltop Cabins, Brown County; Lafayette Municipal Golf Course in Lafayette; and Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell. Streaming video images refresh every 15 minutes for a current view of the leaves from each location. In addition to viewing the leaves, everyone who visits the special leaf cam Web page at VisitIndiana.com can sign up for a chance to win a getaway from participating leaf cam locations.
“Scenic beauty is a top reason travelers visit Indiana,” said Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman. “These leaf cams are a wonderful opportunity for Hoosiers and people around the country to see Indiana’s brilliant fall colors – and hopefully attract more travelers to our state.”
