PALMETTO, Florida  - SkyDeck Industries announced today that the first Super C SkyDeck Coaches are rolling down the lines at Kingdom Coaches.

The patented SkyDeck “rooftop patio” recreational vehicles were first introduced to the market by Airstream and Thor America for trailers and Class A coaches, under license from SkyDeck Industries.  These RVs feature internal stairways to rooftop decks outfitted with lounge seating for 8 – 12 people, a built-in barbecue, a wet bar, and an entertainment center… all which automatically fold down into a low streamlined roof for travel.

The deck, which is accessible via residential stairs from inside the motorhome, is tailored to RVers who enjoy entertaining, tailgating, racing events such as NASCAR and other outdoor activities.  The addition of the SkyDeck extends no higher than rooftop air conditioning units, allowing RVs to retain a low profile.

When asked if the RV market conditions were ready for new product introductions, Archie Zahler, President of Kingdom Coaches MN said, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going… and our new Super C SkyDeck Coaches are double tough!  They are meant for upscale buyers.  And even in a slow market, there are always affluent consumers out there who want the best vehicle out there.”

“We are pleased that Kingdom Coaches has joined the family of RV manufacturers using SkyDeck technology to create distinctive travel options for RV enthusiasts,” said Jim Teeter, president of SkyDeck.  Consumer polls show that our unique rooftop patio is the must-have innovation for RVers, racers, and the active crowd.”

On the West Coast, the newly licensed SkyDeck ToyHaulers from Star Deck Industries are now entering the market in Southern California .  Teeter went on to say that, “It’s good to see that in lean times, savvy manufacturers know that it’s the time for innovation rather than retrenchment.”

And the SkyDeck Class A Motorhome is expected to be entering the Southeast markets this fall.  While we were pleased at the success of the Diesel Pusher SkyDeck Coaches for the high-end commercial market, the new gas models are targeted at active consumers in the low $100,000 range.  Teeter when on to say that he is in talks with interested motorhome manufacturers to supply 200 to 400 units a year for conversion to SkyDeck Motorhomes.

“The rooftop lounge nearly doubles the useable space of a SkyDeck RV with an exciting entertainment area above the crowd… at no significant increase in price.  Now, that’s a good reason for a buyer in a slow market to choose a SkyDeck over an ordinary RV.”

“Our TM Design Research group has been developing patented RV technology for streamlined composite bodies, lightweight chassis, space enhancement, and hybrid motorized & towable RVs over the past 6 years in anticipation of a future time when the cost of fuel would impact buyer’s RV choices.  It looks like that day is here.”
